How to Stay Green in a Drought

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to stay peaceful no matter what's happening around them?

Job loss. Health scares. Difficult seasons. And yet, they remain steady. Grounded. Even joyful.

That's not luck. That's roots.

Isaiah 58:11 describes it beautifully: "You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."

The promise isn't that life won't get hard. The promise is that when it does, your source doesn't run dry. Because your peace isn't dependent on your circumstances, it's dependent on your connection.

Here's a practical truth I've learned: the people who thrive in difficult seasons aren't the ones who have everything figured out. They're the ones who have learned to drop their roots deeper when things get hard, instead of panicking, performing, or shutting down.

This week's flow tip: Identify one external stressor you can't control right now. Instead of fighting it, ask yourself: What would it look like to drop my roots deeper in this season?

Stay rooted. Stay flowing. — Trisha
