What Does It Really Mean to Flourish?

We throw the word "flourishing" around a lot. A flourishing career. A flourishing relationship. A flourishing life.

But what does it actually mean?

In our culture, flourishing usually looks like success — the right job, the right home, the right numbers in the bank account. But the biblical picture of flourishing looks completely different.

In Psalm 1:3, a flourishing person is compared to "a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither."

Notice what that tree isn't doing. It isn't striving. It isn't hustling. It isn't grinding.

It's planted. It's rooted. And because of that — it thrives naturally.

That's the kind of flourishing Flourish & Flow is built on. Not the frantic, exhausting kind the world sells us. But the deep, rooted, soul-level kind that comes from being connected to the right source.

This week's reflection: What does flourishing look like for you right now, not what the world says it should look like, but what your soul is actually craving?

Stay rooted. Stay flowing. — Trisha
